The Naked Binder

The Naked BinderNaked Binder's mission is to create the highest quality and most sustainable products, constantly striving to do better and work to preserve wild and undomesticated nature.  We are members of the 1% for the Planet.

Naked Binder makes a series of bare board 3-ring binders. We believe that good design incorporates function, aesthetics and sustainability so we designed what may be the most eco-friendly binder in the world - strong, good looking and 100% recyclable. Made from 100% recycled board, 97% PCW, our binders have no plastics, no vinyl and no printing.

The board used in the Naked Binder has been lab tested and is Acid Neutral.  This means that Naked Binders will not promote the spiral of degeneration that paper goes through when in touch with acid.  Those old brittle yellowed paperbacks on your shelf?  Acidic paper.  That article about you in 3rd grade from the newspaper is yellow and brittle? Yup, you guessed it.

The board in Naked Binder is the same board used in the Archival Product binders, in fact our wrapped binder inspired Archival Products to make their own version (which doesn't say naked binder on the back).  This is significant because they deal with conservators who are protecting their own very valuable papers.  Almost as valuable as that article about you from the 3rd grade.

We offer binders in a 1" ring (170 sheets of paper) or a 1-1/2" D ring (350 sheets of paper). The hinge is an integral part of the Naked Binder, not a separate piece. An independent testing laboratory confirmed that the hinges are strong when they ran flex tests of over 50,000 openings and closings with no visible change. That's sustainable!

The Naked Binder, Project Binder and Wrapped Binder are all formatted for 8.5x11 paper, the standard US size.  We also offer the Architect Binder, an 11x17 landscape binder for projects, portfolio and large scale works.

Our goal is to eliminate the ubiquitous 'landfill' vinyl binder from the world and replace it with a product that looks and feels better, lasts longer and is 100% recyclable.
